PEPPER SPIKING ON THE BACCATUM PEPPER

Round version Aji Penec |
So i have had this one type of pepper that began to produce SPIKES on the pepper pods an i was amazed because i never seen a pepper do this before! I began to document this an began to ask around an to my surprise no one else haven't seen this before either??!!? I again began to research this further an still nothing. I am making this blog to help further the research on this spiking effect. So far all i know about it will be described here: The spikes seemed to only form on one verity of pepper cultivar and that is the Aji penec. The PENEC that i purchased from pepperlovers.com seemed to produce several verities of that cultivar. In the video links below, you will see me talk about this in more detail. It appears that the Aji Penec became unstable an the parents are beginning to separate producing several phenotype's. This may be part of the reason for the spiking but maybe not, honestly i dont know at this point. The spikes are very pronounced an some were even sharp, very similar to a spike on a fresh cucumber! This effect also occurred on one of my 7 POT yellow pepper plants near by. only about 2 pods produced spikes on the 7 Pot.
Recently a viewer on my youtube channel seen the video of me talking about this spiking effect. He said that it was due to the Capsicum levels in the pods. Tho there is no scientific data backing this claim, He is the only other person i have engaged with that even knows what I'm talking about. He too has had peppers that produced this spiking on pods! So for now all we know is that spiking does occur on pepper pods and it may have something to do with the capsicum levels. As i get more data on this phenomenon i will update this blog with "UPDATES". If anyone else has experienced spiking on there pepper pods PLEASE contact me either on my youtube channel or leave a comment below so i can update this blog. any research data will need to be provided in order to be included in this blog. but if you had spiking please share in the comment section below. every little bit counts. : )
